advanced hacked yahoo search tips and tricks

Using Yahoo Web Search is deceptively simple. You can type in any word or phrase and find matches in documents across the Web. The trade-off for this simplicity is having to look through hundreds, thousands, or millions of results to find those that are actually useful to you. By understanding how Yahoo expects queries to be phrased, you can limit the results to include only those documents most relevant to you--saving you the time of looking through extraneous results.

Search basics
To start building sophisticated queries, you need to know these search basics:
KeywordBy default, Yahoo searches for all of the words you type into a search form. If you type grammar into the search form, Yahoo will return documents that contain the word grammar. A search for grammar school will return documents that contain both words somewhere within the document, but not necessarily together.

Complete phrase
To search for words in a specific order, enclose the words in quotation marks. A search for "grammar school" will return documents that contain the complete phrase grammar school. You can combine keyword and phrase searches. To find documents that contain the phrase grammar school and also have the word Oregon somewhere in the document, you could search for "grammar school" Oregon.
OR keywordYou can change the default behavior of keyword searches by using the capitalized keyword OR between words. A search for grammar OR primary will return documents that contain either grammar or primary, but not necessarily both words.
Exclude words or phrasesTo find documents without a certain word, you can use the minus sign (-) along with the word you want to exclude. If a search for Oregon school returns too many pages for schools in the city of Portland, you could type Oregon school -Portland to exclude any pages with the word Portland from the results.
Use Yahoo to search within a specific domain. Here, we searched for mentions of the planet Mars on NASA's Web site.

Click to enlargeSearch meta wordsIn addition to the basic operators, there are keywords that Yahoo calls "search meta words" that you can use to refine your search:
site:Use this keyword to limit search results to a single Web site. You can search for the word Mars across NASA sites by typing mars site:nasa.gov. All of the results will be from sites hosted at the nasa.gov domain. You also use this keyword to limit results to a single top-level domain, such as .org, .com, or .edu. To find mentions of the word Mars across academic sites, type mars site:.edu.

hostname:This keyword limits results to a specific host at a site. For example, NASA's Mars Exploration Program has a Web site at http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov. If you want to search this specific section of the nasa.gov domain for the word rover, you could type rover hostname:mars.jpl.nasa.gov.
link:You can use this keyword to find sites that link to a specific URL. This keyword works well if you want to judge the popularity of a specific page by finding the number of other sites linking to a particular page. You'll need to include the full URL, so to find pages that link to the Amazon Hacks page at the O'Reilly Hacks site, type link:http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/amazonhks/.
linkdomain:Instead of a specific page, this keyword looks for any links to a specific domain. If you're interested in pages that link to http://www.cnet.com, type linkdomain:cnet.com.
URL:This keyword lets you look up a single page at Yahoo by specifying the URL. You can look up the O'Reilly Hacks home page by typing url:http://hacks.oreilly.com. You could use this keyword to see how pages at a site are displayed in Yahoo's Web, Images, and Video Search results.
inURL:Use this keyword to find sites that have a specific word within the URL. To find all sites that have the word Mars in the URL, type inurl:mars.
intitle:Like inurl:, this keyword returns documents that have a specific word in the document title. To find documents with Mars in the title, use intitle:mars. You can also use the basic search operators in combination with the search meta words to refine your search. Say you'd like to search for the word Mars across documents, but you don't want pages from any nasa.gov site; type mars -site:nasa.gov. Because Yahoo supports very long queries, you could specify a whole list of sites that you don't want information from: mars -site:nasa.gov -site:mars.com -site:space.com. But to search those sites exclusively, take away the minus symbol, group the site list together with parentheses, and use the OR keyword like this: mars (site:nasa.gov OR site:mars.com OR site:space.com). Again, note that the use of the OR keyword requires the use of parentheses. Some of these query combinations can also be accomplished with the form at Yahoo advanced search.
Look up hotels, movie show times, and weather for specific cities in one click by adding short keywords to searches.

Search shortcuts
DefinitionsType define word, and Yahoo will provide a brief dictionary definition for the word and a link to the full dictionary entry for that word at Yahoo Reference.
Encyclopedia entriesSearch for word facts, and Yahoo will display an excerpt of the Wikipedia entry for that word and a link to the full entry.
Airport informationYahoo provides quick links to maps, flight information, and local weather if you type airport code airport. For example, the shortcut for San Francisco International Airport is SFO airport.
HotelsType city hotels to get a quick list of hotels in that city, along with the Yahoo Local rating, the base rate, and a link to check availability. You can also look for a specific hotel chain by typing city chain--for example, San Francisco Ramada.
Stock quotesType quote stock symbol to get the current trading price for a stock (delayed 15 minutes). You can keep tabs on Yahoo by typing quote yahoo.
Sports scoresFind out how your favorite pro team is doing by typing team mascot scores. You'll get a quick look at recent games, and sometimes you can see who they're playing in the next game. The query 49ers scores will give you information about the San Francisco 49ers football team.
Movie showtimesTo see when movies are playing in your area, type showtimes zip code, and you'll get links to local theater showtimes and a few showtimes for current movies.
Zip codesYou can find all of the zip codes for a city by typing zip code city.
Area codesIf you're not sure where someone is calling from, try typing the three-digit area code into Yahoo Search. Yahoo will return a list of cities in that area code.
WeatherFor a quick look at the current weather for any city, type city weather. Yahoo will give you the current conditions and the expected high and low temperatures.Once you learn how to speak the Yahoo Search shortcut language, you'll save time answering some basic questions.

How to Buy an iPod

by Julien David
If you want to buy an iPod but are confused about what to buy then this article will set things straight. Here we explain the different iPod models available and help you decide which one is right for you.
When the Apple iPod was first released there was only one type available. It would play music and that was all. You would upload music onto your iPod either through you own music collection from your computer, or by downloading tunes through Apple's software program 'iTunes'. But these days things aren't as simple as there are different iPod models available. Some can store pictures and even play video.
The first iPod had a 5 gigabyte hard drive and went on sale for US $399, but these have been discontinued. Although, if for some reason you wanted to buy on old model iPod, you could easily purchase one second hand for a good price. Just keep in mind that the original iPod was bulkier and the battery doesn't last as long as the newer models being made today.
The iPod Mini was the next iPod to come out after the original one, but they too have been discontinued. The iPod Mini was a smaller version of the original iPod, and was easier to carry around. It has less hard drive space that the original. Apple then made an iPod Photo, which boasted a color screen so it could display photos. These models have all been discontinued, so if you want the latest and greatest iPod, you should decide between the current generation iPods: the iPod Video, the iPod Nano, or the iPod Shuffle.
The iPod Video
The current 'regular iPod' on sale today is known as the iPod Video. It comes in types, the 30 GB or the 60 GB versions. It has a color screen, has much improved battery life over the older iPods, and can store songs, photos and videos. So if you want the very best iPod around with all the latest features, go for an iPod Video.
The iPod Nano
The iPod Nano is a smaller iPod which can play music and display photos, but cannot play videos. It has a smaller capacity than the iPod Video, yet its lighter and easier to carry around. If you don't care about playing videos on your iPod, then you might want to go for the iPod Nano as its cheaper than the iPod Video and is more portable.
The iPod Shuffle
The iPod Shuffle is the smallest of the new iPods, and the most portable. It doesn't have a screen, so it all it does is play music. This is what most people buy an iPod for anyway, so if you don't mind not being able to view photos and videos, the iPod Shuffle might be the one to get. The storage space in a Shuffle is 512MB to 1GB.
Hopefully you should now understand the different iPods that are available out there, and choose one that suits you. Whether you buy an iPod Video, Nano, or Shuffle, you'll be in on a great new craze that is a lot of fun!

Tips to keep your laptop safe by Lorne Wilkinson

Having a laptop computer these days is just as important as having your desktop machine. You need to have access to the internet, your email, and other important data at all times. It's important to remember that the same problems that data recovery, spyware and viruses can cause on your PC can also affect your laptop computer. Security for your portable machine is also doubly important because of the risk involved in having your laptop stolen. It's also very important to make certain your laptop security is in tiptop shape before you head out for work or on a business trip with your laptop. There are certain laptop security tips you can follow to keep your machine and data safe at all times.
If your machine and data are super-sensitive, you can have tracking software installed in your laptop. Security experts can then track and follow the location of your machine as it moves. It works in the same fashion as a global positioning system does for your vehicle. This proposition is expensive, but it does increase your computer security and your overall chance of data recovery should your machine ever get stolen or lost.
Mostly, though, effective laptop security comes from good old-fashioned common sense. Being aware of your surroundings and movements can severely limit the potential of your portable computer being stolen, misplaced or lost. Here are some simple tips that can increase your computer's security and help minimize the risk of theft to your laptop.
∑ Never leave your laptop unattended. When you stay with your laptop computer, security increase and the risk of losing your machine decreases.
∑ Do not leave your laptop in your vehicle. If you have to, improve laptop security by locking it in the trunk of your car. Don't leave it in plain view.
∑ When you are not using your laptop, lock up the machine itself or lock it in a secure cabinet or desk.
∑ Make certain that using hard to decipher passwords enhances

what is bad for the computer

Look after your computer well if you want it to give you continued service for a long time to come. The aspects that would determine this could be:

• The way you treat your CD Drive - If you are in the practice of pushing it back to its slot, it’s the wrong way to treat it. Hit the open close key on the front of the drive to pull the tray. Else after a while the gears in the CD tray, weaken and the tray will lose its functionality
• Shutting off the computer without terminating all its programs - This is not so difficult given that windows has an inbuilt shut down option that offers the users the facility without much trouble
• The power chord of the computer and the cards in the system being lose – Will lead the computer to restart on its own which is never good for the system
• Restart the computer too often – Even if this happens involuntarily due to the mal function of a certain program or by the action of the user, the result is the same; leading the software to corrode or even loss files in dire situations. The ideal solution to the problem would be to run a scan disk each time one is compelled to restart and preferably avoid using the errant program until a newer version is installable
• Neglecting the earthing of the system is the biggest mistake that a computer user can do. It protects the computer from stray electric charges that could be very harmful for the computer. Its also simple given that checking to see if the power cable has a ground wire would do the job. Simple but worth more than the cost of the computer. To test if the comp is affected check if it lets out static then you’ll know ou missed out a vital detail while setting up your system.
• Why install new drivers when you haven’t installed newer software you may ask? You must I say. Some components are software specific and their utilities will only be ascertained once they are or are not able to support eh functions for which they were originally installed. The manufacturers support this lacunae through a patch which will be upgraded if you take care of upgrading the drivers of the computer for time to time.
• Is the inside of your computer out of sight out of mind? That’s not good either for your comp or for you. The condition of the insides of the comp decides the health of the system. Servicing it regularly is a good idea. Certain parts require special attention, E.g. The cooling fan on the system and the CPU. If they heat up the insides would roast. Ideally the fans need to be cleaned every 6 months if kept ina a concealed room and every 3 months if in an open area.

How best to look after your comp

• Shut the computer properly
• Scan for viruses
• Use the latest drivers
• Keep the system interiors clean
• Earthing of the system
• And … the CD ROM tray !!!

Speed up your PC

Tweaking your PC
Important tweaks:
Boosting the speed of the system
1) Number of tweaks for the purpose
2) Many parts need to be tackled to get into the tweak
3) The CMOS or the start –up is the most important of this options

Tweaking the CMOS
This is one of the most sensitive parts of your computer. By changing setting here, you can gain very significant speed increases.
Step 1: Disable Bootup Floppy seek
Step 2: Enable CPU Internal cache
Step 3: Enable Video BIOS Shadow
Step 4: Enable System BIOS Cacheable
Step 5: Enable video BIOS cacheable
Step 6: Enable passive release
Step 7: Enable delayed transaction

Increasing the sped of the hard disk, CD/ DVD drives:

About drivers
1. They are software and let the card work with the rest of the system.
2. Ensure that they have the newest version
3. Especially for the sound card and the GFx card, they ensure maximum performance and speed

Upgrading the PC

Upgrading the Processor

In case of a Coppermine processor
• These are socket 370 based Intel processors.
• If your older board has such a socket you can easily upgrade
• If it does not support he Coppermine processor, you’ll have to upgrade th motherboard itself to a higher level
Upgrading the RAM
• This is essential even if the processor has been upgraded
• This is especially true of programs that require and use a lot or RAM

Upgrading the hard disk
• It improves the sped and performance of the system
• The hard disk essentially stores files
• Too much operation does not lend it to high quality performance
• Logically a larger hard disc takes care of these modifications
• Besides newer hard disks are faster by definition

Maintaining your PC for optimal performance

Does your computer shut down on it’s own?
• Check for loose power cables in sockets.
• The powers inside the system might be loose

The importance of earthing:
• Grounding one’s PC is very significant in fact it has to be done before anything else is done
• Ensure that the power cable has a ground wire
• This ensures the stray voltage charges do not leak in to the system
• One indication of this situation is if one experiences a slight shock if they touch the system

Keeping the system clean: Inside out
• Servicing the computer is a necessity
• Certain parts require special attention
• The cooling fans on the system and iun the CPU are 2 such things
• If they stop is could be bad for the system
• The average frequency with which this should be done is between 3 – 6 months

Tweaking your PC

Caution
1. Before tweaking your system, take back ups of all your critical files and data. In the event that a tweak goes awry, you will have access to all your data.

2. During any tweak, you will most probably be asked what you want to do along the way. If there is any confusion or uncertainty along the way, choose the ‘Cancel’ option.

Tweaking the CMOS
This is one of the most sensitive parts of your computer. By changing setting here, you can gain very significant speed increases.
Step 1: Disable Bootup Floppy seek
Step 2: Enable CPU Internal cache
Step 3: Enable Video BIOS Shadow
Step 4: Enable System BIOS Cacheable
Step 5: Enable video BIOS cacheable
Step 6: Enable passive release
Step 7: Enable delayed transaction

These settings change everything from the way your video card uses it’s BIOS to the way in which the processor transmits data through the system.
Caution: If your system becomes unstable after making these changes, you can always return to the original setting by going to CMOS and choosing ‘Restore BIOS Defaults’.

Tweaking the drives
You can gain a tremendous speed increase if you set your hard disk and CD/DVD drives to operate in UDMA mode.
Step 1: Go to the Control Panel in Windows
Step 2: Open the properties of the hard disk and CD/DVD drives. Here, check mark the DMA setting in each of these drives.

Upgrading the PC

Caution
Get rid of static before you start installing any of the newer components. You could cause damage to your system due to static charges. Touch the metal part of the CPU to get rid of static charge.

Upgrading the Processor
Step 1: Check for compatibility with motherboard. (Check motherboard manual).

Upgrading a Celeron or a Coppermine processor
• These are socket 370 based Intel processors. You can easily upgrade to a processor that has a similar interface but with a higher clock speed (for instance, from a Coppermine 500 MHz to a Coppermine running at 1 GHz).

Upgrading a slot 1-based processor such as a P-III
• You will also have to buy a new motherboard that features the socket 370 interface as slot 1-based processors are not manufactured any more.

Upgrading an AMD processor
• If you have a Socket A-based motherboard, then you can easily upgrade to a Duron or an Athlon processor running at a higher clock speed.
• If you have an older Slot A-based motherboard or a Socket 7-based motherboard, then you should also upgrade your motherboard to one that supports the Socket A-based interface.

How To
Step 1: Remove the older processor by moving the lever that releases the processor.
Step 2: Insert the new processor. These processors sit in the socket in one way only, therefore do not try to force the processor into the socket. Align the notch on the processor such that it conforms to the notch on the socket.

Upgrading the RAM
There are two kinds of RAM: SDRAM for Celeron, Coppermine, Duron and Athlon systems and RDRAM for Pentium 4-based systems.

Installing SDRAM
Step 1: Check whether you have a free slot on your motherboard.
Step 2: Remove the RAM sticks by pulling out the levers at the edges of the sockets. This will pry the RAM out of their sockets.
Step 3: Insert the new RAM sticks into the slots by gently applying force on either side of the sticks. See to it that the notches on the RAM sticks conform to those on the slot.

Inserting RDRAM
When inserting RDRAM modules into the slots, they have to be inserted in pairs. If you have only two modules on a board that has four slots, the other two will have to be terminated by special modules called CRIMM modules. Refer to your motherboard’s manual for how these modules need to be inserted. Some motherboards require the RDRAM modules to be inserted consecutively or in alternate slots.

Upgrading the Hard Disk
Depending on whether you have an IDE or a SCSI hard disk, your upgrade will basically be a change in capacity. If upgrading to an IDE hard disk, then you don’t need any additional hardware.
But, if you want to upgrade to SCSI, you’ll need a SCSI controller card.

Step 1: Remove the power and the data cable from your existing hard disk.
Step 2: Remove the screws attaching the hard disk to the drive bays.
Step 3: Remove the older hard disk and insert the newer one
Step 4: Attach the data and power cables to the new hard disk after fastening it with screws. Remember to connect the data cable with the red/dotted wire toward the power connector
Step 5: Restart your system and redetect your hard disk through CMOS.
Step 6: Format the hard disk and load your favourite operating system onto it.

If you want to retain your older hard disk, then you can set the new one as a Master or Slave drive by setting the jumpers. Instructions for how to set the jumpers are noted as a table on the hard disk itself.

Maintaining your PC for optimal performance
Check for loose power cables in sockets. Use a UPS.
Check for loose power cables. Most people do not bother with the power supply cable that is connected to the computer. If this cable is loosely connected to the power outlets, it could result in sparks and random reboots, which are fatal for your computer.
Use a UPS if you live in an area with frequent power failures.

Ground your PC
Proper earthing protects you and your computer from stray voltage charges that may leak from the metallic parts of the computer. The power outlets to which you connect your computer should have a three-point plug and should be correctly grounded. Have your electrician check this.

Use the correct and latest drivers for your hardware
Companies continue to release improvements to the drivers for their hardware. You can usually find these updates on the company’s site.
It is always a good idea to use the latest drivers as this will help you use your hardware to its optimum capacity.

Keeping the cooling fans clean
While most people generally keep the keyboard, mouse, monitor and cabinet clean, few bother about what’s inside the cabinet.
Especially, remember to clean the cooling fans for the power supply, the CPU and the graphics card, as these are the components that can get easily damaged as they get over heated if their cooling fans stop.
If you are not confident about cleaning these yourself, get your service guy to clean the cooling fans once in six months if your machine is in a sealed air conditioned room, and once in three months if it is in an open environment.

atlast suspense ends

It’s no surprise that the couple were so secretive.
Both actors had always kept a low profile about their relationship and probing questions have been answered either by silence or flippant jokes. Although the couple were seen arriving at various places of worship separately, it was only in November 2006 that Aishwarya was first seen in public with the Bachchan family in Banaras.Adding fuel to the fire were reports that special aartis were performed at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple praying for a successful future for the couple. “It will be a very successful wedding because they are following traditions. When the Bachchan family last came here, we even made Abhishek and Aishwarya perform a puja,” said Srikant Tripathi, Priest, Vishwanath Temple. The couple seem to find a lot of respite in God's house. Days before the release of his film Guru, Abhishek along with his father walked barefoot to Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai The romance which started on the sets of JP Dutta's Umrao Jaan grew on the sets of Dhoom 2 and Mani Ratnam's Guru where Aishwarya plays the role of Abhishek's better half.

Maine Kiss Kyun kiya???Aishwarya Rai had faced fair amount of controversies in the year 2006. A case has been filed in Indore against Hrithik and Aishwarya for their Dhoom 2 kissing sequence. But that is nothing compared to Bachchans' ire she faced over the entire issue. According to sources, her skimpy costumes too did not go down well with the first family of Bollywood. They are wondering where was the need for Aishwarya to change her demure image at this stage.Post her Kiss episode, the B clan was never spotted with Roshans. But recently at Dabboo Ratnani's calendar launch they came face to face with Roshans and a thaw was clearly visible. The Bachchans walked into the party with Ash, and Hrithik like a thorough gentleman greeted Abhishek with a hug. On the other hand, Abhishek congratulated Hrithik for his fabulous performance in Dhoom 2 and even Big B hugged Hrithik and praised him.But some insiders claim that the tension from the kiss controversy have not vanished totally yet. They exchanged pleasantries just because of the media battery that was present at the event in full force.Clearly poor Ash was feeling awkward amidst these cold vibes but she managed to smiled throughout the evening and even posed for the shutterbugs too.Now that’s what we call, Kiss Ke Side Effects!

lonley road lyrics

One more song i like !!

Lonely Road

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah,
Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone

Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Ah-ah, Aaah-ah
Ah-ah, Ah-ah

I walk alone
I walk a...

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk a...

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone...
